Chicago 2012

I  plan to update this info as more becomes available.

Parents meeting will be October  18, 2011 at 7:00PM in the band room. 

Parents,
The trip is on a first come basis. I expect we will only take 40 students and 10 adults. If more are interested, and I do expect there will be more interested, in which case, we will have a drawing of both students and then adults. I would need $250.00 deposit for each adult and student. We must have payment with registration to hold your seat, if they are chosen. This would need to be paid at the meeting on Tuesday October 18, 2011 @ 7:00PM.

We have cut the cost of this trip very close and each empty seat on the bus would add an additional cost of $250.00 to the total trip expenses. We could add another bus, but if we do, we will most likely have 20+ empty seats at a cost of over $5000.00 and that would increase costs by almost $100.00 each participant. The added costs would most likely force even less to go, and then increase the cost even more.

This does bother me and I see no solution other than to have a drawing and to take as many students as we can. Last year, we did have a drawing for the first time, and every student that was willing to go without their parent was able to go. The meeting ended with one empty seat. It was eventually filled.

We will be taking only 1 bus (50 people).  There most likely will be people on the waiting list at the conclusion of this meeting. The seats will be filled on a first come first serve basis, non refundable deposit of $250.00 is required to reserve a seat.

Anticipated cost  for our  trip:
$549 Students   $646 Adults
 

Deposit in October-November $250.00 each.
The next payments are due:
Jan 16, 2012 ...................$150.00 Students / $198.00 Adults
February 15, 2012 ..........$149.00 Students / $198.00 Adults

Please arrive at Fort Gratiot at 7:00AM Thursday morning and place all belongings in the Gym for inspection.  We will be departing at 8:00am. We will return at 11:00PM Saturday March 24, 2012 to Fort Gratiot Middle School. We will NOT be entering the school to call home. Please have your ride at the school by 11:00PM.

 

The  Chicago Itinerary   2012 We are planning to see Blue Man Group this year as our major theatrical show.

Fundraisers:

The first  fundraiser will be sponsorships.  Here is a copy of our  our  sponsor form.

 The Bake Sale could be during conferences. In the past,  we have made more than $600.00. 

The candy bar sale will begin in January. Prior year's note that was sent home. 
There has been a change to the money collection.    Please keep 50%.  I will need students going to Chicago to bring in a check or money order payable to Fort Gratiot Middle School - $25.00 for each case and use the other $25.00 to help with the costs of the Chicago trip.  All money needs to be paid by Feb 2, 2012 to enable  timely payment to our candy company.  Candy not paid for by Feb 2 will not be eligible for this 50% option. The full 100% will then be due.
